The Unreal Real

Most of my work typically lives online and is somewhat ephemeral in nature. However I am a collector of many physical objects that I find throughout the world featuring the (often severed) bodies of women as consumable or functional objects. In the series The Unreal Real, I decided to create cyanotypes on linoleum tile from images of my collected (severed) women-as-objects and augment them digitally with internet commentary about my feminist art practice made by participants in online enclaves like the manosphere to create a conversation between the harassment of women in online spaces and the ubiquity of consumer objects showcasing women's bodies in physical space. The result are looping GIFs meant to be displayed on vertical Electric Objects screens.
